Ambassador Omar attended the function to mark SAARC Non Violence Day 2019

His Excellency Omar Abdul Razzak, Ambassador of Maldives to Sri Lanka attended the function held to mark SAARC Non Violence Day 2019. The function was organized by SAARC Cultural Centre in Sri Lanka.

This year, the SAARC Cultural Centre endeavours to promote the concept of Non-Violence amongst School Children by conducting an Art Competition. The theme was based on a quote by Mahatma Gandhi, “Where there is love there is Life”. The objective of the competition is to create a platform for the School Children to showcase their creativity to the world with their Artistic ability.

Ambassador Omar presented awards for those students who participated at the SAARC Non Violence Day Art Competition 2019.

SAARC Non-Violence Day is observed on the 2nd October each year in conjunction with the International Non-Violence Day. The commemoration of the Non-Violence Day sends out a strong message to the society of the universal significance of the principle of Non-Violence. The First ever SAARC Non-Violence Day was marked in 2012.
