The newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency Omar Abdul Razzak has presented his Letter of Credence to the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena at a ceremony held this afternoon at the President’s House.
During the brief meeting after the presentation of Credentials, President Maithripala Sirisena welcomed Ambassador Razzak to Sri Lanka and expressed his sincere hope to strengthen the bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Ambassador Omar during his interactions with the President of Sri Lanka conveyed cordial greetings and good wishes from the President of the Republic of Maldives His Excellency Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to the President and friendly people of Sri Lanka. Ambassador further stated that Sri Lanka was one of the most important development partner for the Maldives and ensured President Sirisena that during his tenure in office as the Ambassador of Maldives to Sri Lanka, he would work diligently to further strengthen the existing long-standing friendly ties between the two countries.
At the ceremony, Ambassador Omar was accompanied by his Spouse Aminath Zahir.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih appointed His Excellency Omar Abdul Razzak as the Ambassador of Maldives to Sri Lanka on 20 January 2019.
